Principles

Principles are commitments that decide tradeoffs. They are tool-agnostic, and departing from one needs a recorded exception.

  1. Authority Cascade: Org > Client > Team > Role > Individual decides conflicts
  2. Human in the Loop: define where humans judge, and make those checkpoints fast
  3. Problem Before Prescription: present the problem and constraints before a solution
  4. Consistency as Leverage: predictable code saves more tokens than tuned prompts
  5. Fail Fast, Recover Smart: design for failure before shipping
  6. Reproducibility: choose the reproducibility level each part needs
  7. Deliberate Currency: stay current by owner, cadence, and tripwires

New proposals go in Discussions and follow the governance lifecycle.
